Samoan cultural song - Building Identity through Culture
Building identity through culture means investing time and effort into our children. Raising children with values that reflect love, relationship, sharing, respect and family means our children become valued contributors to our Pacific Community. In this video, Talia sings Ua e Manumalo, a family favourite song.
Building strong Pacific identity through culture begins with intentionally investing time in our children. When we raise young people with values rooted in Pacific traditions, love, respect, family, sharing, faith, and meaningful relationships, we help shape confident individuals who become valued contributors to the wider Pacific community.
Music plays an important role in cultural learning. In this video, Talia sings “Ua e Manumalo”, a Samoan church song she has been learning, helping reinforce both language and faith through song. Learning Samoan songs for children is a powerful way to strengthen cultural pride while supporting language development.
At Pacific Learners, we are committed to creating high-quality Pacific cultural and language resources for families and schools. In another featured video, Talia performs “Le ‘Aute”, a song that holds special meaning for her. Through traditional and faith-based songs, we aim to provide engaging Samoan cultural content that supports identity, belonging, and heritage.
