Fäeag Rotuạm has five basic vowels and five variant vowels. Vowels share the same pronunciation as other Pacific languages and Te Reo Māori. Long vowel sounds are indicated by a macron and are slightly dragged out.

Glottal Stop '
The [ ' ] glottal stop is the sound in the middle of Oh-oh or Uh-oh. It changes word meanings significantly.
⚡ Long vowels change meaning: Koko (mischievous/bad) vs Kōkō (thorny/prickly) · Toto (blood) vs Tōtō (to speak/utter). Always note the macron!
Fäeag Rotuạm is spoken on Rotuma Island, Fiji — a unique Polynesian language in a Melanesian nation.
