Learn Common Tokelau Words and Build Your Vocabulary

Mālō ni and warm Pacific greetings. Pacific Learners Education is proud to introduce our first Tokelau language video, Common Tokelau Words, designed to help you build practical, everyday Tokelauan vocabulary.

Tokelau is a remote group of atolls in the South Pacific, located between Hawai‘i and New Zealand. With a population of around 1,500 people and a land area of approximately 10km², Tokelau remains a dependent territory of New Zealand. Preserving and revitalising the Tokelauan language is essential for strengthening cultural identity and passing heritage on to future generations.

In this video, you will learn useful Tokelau words that can easily be incorporated into daily conversations. Impress your family and friends by saying:

  • Fakafetai – Thank you

  • Fakamolemole – Please

Practising common Tokelau words regularly helps improve pronunciation, confidence, and fluency.

As part of our commitment to revitalising Pacific languages, we will continue releasing more Tokelauan language videos. Be sure to explore our dedicated Tokelauan Language Resource Page for additional lessons and learning tools.
